Conference offers sponsors a chance to weigh in on CPE Standards changes

June 2011

The beautiful Coronado Bay of San Diego hosted this year’s CPE Conference in March, where NASBA officials met with providers to discuss proposed revisions of the Standards and other news impacting the learning community.

And while this year’s main topic of conversation was the upcoming Standards revisions, the biannual event offered participants on the opportunity to learn about NASBA’s other programs and opportunities as well, says Jessica Luttrull, CPA, Manager of Sponsor Services.

“We use the conference to make sure sponsors know what’s happening with NASBA and the profession, because our activities will eventually have an impact on them and the programs they offer,” Luttrull says. “We also share best practices from the learning community in general, because that’s of value to both NASBA and our sponsors.”

During the March 7-9 gathering, 140 attendees attended pre- and post-conference workshops, including one focused on sponsors who offer self-study delivery method programs. Those new to the Registry were able to get up to speed through orientation sessions, while multiple other panels and workshops dealt with specific areas of interest to longtime sponsors.
