QAS

Important Changes to the QAS Program:

Final revisions to the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs (Standards) will impact the administration of current Registry and QAS self study programs. NASBA anticipates changes to the National Registry and QAS programs and is finalizing the transition process. For more information and details regarding these proposed changes, click here.

The Quality Assurance Service (QAS), established by NASBA in 1998, provides assistance to State Boards and their licensees through its approval of the highest quality CPE providers of self study courses.

Learning providers able to meet the QAS requirements and who are willing to make a commitment to meet the highest CPE program standards are welcome to apply. The QAS program is intended solely for self study learning providers. Organizations involved only in CPE program presentation of group live and group internet based programs should not seek approval.

  • Provides licensees with a listing of quality sponsors conducting programs in compliance with requirements of State Boards and the applicable Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs.
  • Learning providers become listed among quality CPE program sponsors that have been certified to conduct self study programs in compliance with the requirements of State Accountancy Boards and the uniform standards for continuing education in the accounting profession.
  • Identifies sponsors who issue certificates of completion and maintain other appropriate records for CPAs.
  • Improves the overall quality of self study CPE.
  • Approved sponsors are authorized to use the QAS logo and approved sponsor language in all marketing materials. Many accountants look for the logo as soon as they receive program materials in the mail.
