Mar 2012: Learning Market Implements New Online Video Training Tool

March 2012

There’s a lot going on with Learning Market and the Registry, so NASBA has launched the first in a series of online videos for organizations wanting to learn more about the National Registry and for members of the National Registry.

The first of these is an online video about the Registry itself, that walks the viewer through the process for joining the Registry.  It will quickly be joined by another video tutorial about the new revisions to the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs, or Standards.

“We are progressing really quickly with these,” says Jessica Luttrull, CPA, Manager of the National Registry. “We also have created a product for our outside reviewers, the people who perform program reviews in the areas of accounting, auditing and taxation. Now we’re working on several that are focused on helping our sponsors with various Registry issues, such as renewal.”

“The next area of focus for the online training tools will be the revised Standards and what the major areas of change are,” Luttrull says, adding that “there will be even more functionality built into the videos going forward.”  We think these will be very helpful tools that allow us to attach relevant documentation, applications and links to important information.

“This is a new area for us, but we are pleased to have such a strong tool to communicate and deliver information to our Registry sponsors and potential members,” she says.
